Flag-Trader.com is the website through which students will gain access to the online software which is an essential part of the Flag-Trader strategy as well as to support and ongoing education. As we have already remarked a number of times, trading bull and bear flags is a well known strategy and relatively simple. It is finding the flags in the first place that is difficult and this is exactly what the Flag Tradefinder software does.

Filters

The software is simply a set of filters that enables you to find the sort of flags that you want to find. The filters cover:

• bull or bear flags,
• in a trend? How long a trend?
• which market?
• how much volume?
• volume pattern
• exclude stocks with earnings reports due
• confirm that stock is optionable and therefore has Open Interest information
• your required percentage of Open Interest imbalance.

In fact, all the features that distinguish good and bad bull and bear flags that Guy has covered. Having described it as 'simply a set of filters' I should make clear that I'm told it is sorting 288 million lines of data – so you can understand why this is a job best left to a machine. You are certainly not going to get it done before lunchtime.

However, it is only a machine and Guy covers in the training that though it works using the logical algorithms he has developed it is still only a machine and will produce results that are logically correct but a cursory glance will tell you are not candidates to trade. This is the purpose of his training, to allow the user the benefit of the timesaving tool, but not to depend on it.

Controls

There are a number of other 'Controls' offering useful features. You can save the filters that you set so that you do not have to reset them every session and the saved filters can be reloaded as a set. When you are travelling or away for any reason the software will email to you the list of candidate flags resulting from your filters on an day or days that you specify and the list can be exported in csv file ready for import into your own spreadsheet or trading software.

It is a well known business adage that to get rich you find some particular thing that makes you money and then do two things; do more of it and do it better. Flag-Trader is set up to do all these things for you. It is well known to be a profitable trading strategy and then the Tradefinder software enables you to do more of it simply by finding the good flag trade candidates in a matter of moments. You then do it better by applying the training provided by Guy in order to trade the flags more reliably and more profitably.

The Flag Tradefinder software is the big number cruncher at the heart of this package which finds suitable flag patterns in manageable numbers. Having experimented with the process I can confirm that the task of quickly skimming through the maybe 50-100 candidate flags is quickly mastered and completed in 20-30 minutes, especially when you rigorously apply Guy's teaching of simply looking for good quality flags.

This is not a strategy for compulsive traders. This is for those who want to make good trades and take reliable profits and have the discipline and patience to wait for the opportunities to come to them rather than indulging in a frenetic hunt through the markets.
